Stay Safe from COVID-19 with hi-hive Community App
In the collective effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Silverlake Lifestyle Community (SLC) has created Scan & Notify, Crowd Tracing and Health Tracker features in hi-hive to facilitate daily activities to meet the needs and demands for communities under these new circumstances to stay apart but together.
With the Movement Control Order easing and people getting back to their regular routine, keeping space between yourself and other people will be a measure to be practiced indefinitely.
Scan & Notify is a new feature in hi-hive that allows user to practice social distancing with ease. Users can define their preferred range of personal comfort zone and mode of alert, and the app will scan and alert if their comfort zone has been breached. The app will trace all Bluetooth enabled devices within the defined range at default to ensure the accuracy of alerts.
Crowd Tracing enables users find where the crowds are in the area of their interest to save time and avoid risks of group gathering and exposure to the virus. With this new feature, user can easily view live clusters of hi-hive crowds in the area of their interest on a map.
Health Tracker, currently a feature specifically enabled for the UTAR community, is built for community owners to have a monitoring tool to control and prevent the spread of COVID-19 within their campus community. The feature enables the community owners to track and monitor their members’ body temperature prior to the members’ entry to the campus and its premises. This allows the community to stop people who are infected or not well from entering its premises and risk infecting others. This practice is also in line with the standard operating procedures given by the government during this COVID-19 pandemic to ensure that members entering the campus are symptoms free.
UTAR President Ir Prof Ewe Hong Tat added that, “UTAR is indeed grateful to Silverlake Lifestyle Community for developing these features in hi hive that are very useful for us to keep our community safe and prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.”
These new features by hi-hive encourage users to stay at least 1m apart from other people, to stay out of crowded places and to be conscious of the health of their own and members of the community.
Joseph Yeong, Co-Founder and CEO of Silverlake Lifestyle Community highlighted the new features are purposely developed for the wellbeing of communities. “It is part of our responsibility to practice Social Distancing. It is one of the best tools we have to avoid being exposed to this virus.”
For these features to work effectively, communities will need to have a collective consensus and action to actively use hi-hive. hi-hive has made the disclaimer to respect users’ privacy in which all personal data collected are to be used only to improve user experience and that the data will not be shared to any other third parties without prior agreement.
“Community comes first – hi-hive should be users most trusted companion to curb the spread of the virus locally and across the country and the world,” Joseph concluded.
hi-hive is available for download on the App Store and the Google Play, or visit https://www.silverlakemobility.com/hi-hive/
