Miri – 24 November 2017 – Keysight Technologies, the world’s leading electronic measurement company, has donated a state-of-the-art PA2201A power analyser to Curtin University, Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia) for research and teaching purposes.

The analyser, worth some RM80,000, is a welcome addition to Keysight-sponsored equipment in the Keysight Reference Laboratory at Curtin Malaysia’s Faculty of Engineering and Science, according to Faculty Dean Ir, Professor Lau Hieng Ho.

Ir. Professor Lau received the donation from Keysight Technologies’ Asia Pacific Education Development Manager Daniel Yap at a handover ceremony held at the campus.

Ir, Professor Lau said the donation of the power analyser and other equipment in the laboratory demonstrated the strong partnerships Curtin Malaysia has with industry.

He said the university was proud to collaborate with a global company like Keysight to develop quality graduates in the field of electrical and electronic engineering, conduct relevant research, and train fresh graduates and professional engineers in the use of electronic measuring devices and instrumentation in Sarawak’s oil and gas and power-generation industries.

Also present were Channel Manager Alex Kwa and Development Manager Lau Yue Hong of Keysight Technologies and Sales Manager Michael Leow Kee Hua of Tekmark Sdn. Bhd., an authorised Keysight partner and distributor in Malaysia, in addition to over 60 staff and students of the Faculty of Engineering and Science.

The PA2201A power analyser is capable of achieving better power analyser accuracy and addressing multiple test scenarios with the flexibility of wide-ranging, isolated inputs.

The Keysight Reference Laboratory at Curtin Malaysia was launched in 2014 to equip students, alumni and industry professionals with up-to-date technical knowledge and skills for a new era of technological advancement.

It has also helped to create a technology-rich learning environment at Curtin Malaysia that has been significantly enhanced of late with new learning and teaching facilities such as more research laboratories, and modern distributed learning and case study rooms.
