You are cordially invited to join our exciting Virtual STEM Carnival 2022, organised by the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FOSE). Explore the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM) through interactive activities, competitions, virtual workshops and so much more!
The STEM Carnival 2022 aligns with Malaysia curriculum in STEM Education to equip students for the rapid scientific and technological developments in 21st century. We aim to help students to become lifelong learners in STEM, nurturing their creativity, collaboration and problem-solving skills. Besides, the STEM Carnival will increase students’awareness on the challenges in Malaysia and in doing so, contributes to national developments.
Grand Challenge is a competition which prizes to be won (open to Malaysian students only), as below:

Champion: RM 1,000 (Team) & RM 1,000 (School)
1st Runner-Up: RM 750 (Team) & RM 750 (School)
2nd Runner-Up: RM 500 (Team) & RM 500 (School)
Most liked video RM 250 (Team) & RM 250 (School)
The Challenge is to create a video presentation to provide a solution for environmental challenges. Judges will select the top eight teams for Final Pitching (Grand Finals). Participants are given the following four topics of concern to choose from. Please choose ONE to address with a proposed solution or idea to be presented in your video:
● Topic 1: Climate Change
● Topic 2: Waste Recycling
● Topic 3: Plastic Pollution in the Oceans
● Topic 4: Flood Risk Management
To encourage more participations from the schools, we would like to extend the STEM Grand Challenge entries until 28th February 2022. The final pitching will be held in mid of March 2022.
This competition is open to ALL schools in Malaysia and students between 13 – 18 years old (in the year 2022). Each school can register up to a maximum of 3 teams. Each team should consist of 2-3 students. In the registration form, each student’s name, class, and email contact should be included.
