精算学是一门研究意外、风险事件对财务、经济及商业上所产生的影响之科系。此科系需要将各种影响化为数据，并深入探讨与研究这些数据，以保持工商金融界等在市场上的敏锐度、竞争力及内部的财务稳定。因此，学生不仅须学习各种概率 (Probability)、统计学 (Statistics) 等分析技术，以研究分析死亡率、制作生命表、应用利息等精算学传统课题，也须学习各种财务金融、经济、保险、会计、风险管理等方面的学问。

就业机会：
学生在毕业后需服务于精算部门，并参加由精算师协会所提供的专业考试。在通过考试后，成为受我国承认的精算师协会的会员，才可以成为合格精算师。这些精算师协会，包括美国的 Society of Actuaries 和 Casualty Actuarial Society, 英国的 Institute and Faculty of Actuaries 和澳洲的 Institute of Actuaries of Australia 等。
毕业生一般可在商业界（如保险公司、金融机构等）的精算部门担任精算师或精算顾问。此外，亦可自行开业，对企业提供各种咨询服务，诸如财经投资、风险管理、员工退休福利计划及公司资产管理等。
学习内容：
此科系的课程内容涵盖基础经济学、运算法则、统计学、排列组合、会计与金融、精算数学、风险理论、保险学、利息理论、投资分析与组合管理等。

我的数学当时拿A1, 高数A2, 目前在UCSI University 念精算学系~基本上你只要很勤劳，你就可以克服难题了。

我当年也有拿普数和高数，分别拿A1和A2,目前在UCSI University念精算学系！数学要有基础是第一条件，第二条件就是要很勤劳勤劳勤劳，你才能克服这个具有挑战性的理科的科系。

If you are graduate from UTAR 3 years later, you will get an ordinary undergraduate degree certificate.
It is definitely recognized by Malaysia but not whole world ( it’s depend on which university that you are referring to).

erm…ok, but will i stand a chance to transfer overseas if i take the actuarial science course in UTAR as i did very well and get high score for C GPA in every exam? In addition,where will i take my exam for the professional paper to be recognised as ‘ACTUARY’ if i study in UTAR ?(because i heard that malaysia dun have right to the actuary license)…

It depends on whether UTAR have any partnership with oversea university. I’m not recommended you to transfer oversea in the half way of your degree because overseas uni might have some Core math courses you have to take before study the act sci it will definitely extend your academic year (I’m suffering now).But if you want to study oversea then you really have to study hard.
For those professional paper you can register through http://www.soa.org and they will post the venue in their website too you can go there and figure it out.

ok, first you have to know what is an actuary. Actuaries are those who have already pass all the examination and certified by one of the actuarial board (SOA,IAA,CIA,CAS,CERA..etc). If you are graduated from uni or college you are just considered as an graduate actuarial student, which the salary is a lot less than an actuary. The salary would probably just like others people who possess the degree certificate.

除了SOA还有很多精算师协会如CAS, IOA,IAA,CERA. 通过这些协会的考试也能够成为精算师。基本上有考SOA的精算师和没有考SOA的精算师是没什么差别。因为其他的精算师协会也有它们自己的考试，分别在头衔而已。如考SOA的就ASA和FSA, CAS的就ACAS和FCAS，在于你是Associateship 或 Fellowship.

没有拿Account也可以读精算。
如果你想要在国立大学就读那你必须是理科生，但如果你想在私立大学就读那理科生或文科生也可以读精算（在一些大学）。

可以。不过念数学系学的都是比较注重在数学的知识，除非你额外学一些精算和考professional papers。
无论你是读什么系都能成为精算师只要你能pass所有的professional papers.
如果degree想念精算系，那diploma应该念什么
