(26 March 2016, Saturday) A group of students from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) and King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Thailand (KMUTT) have collaborated for an exhibition of furniture prototypes. The FurnitureORIGINS 2016 show features the work of 15 students from across both schools, including seven 3D design programme students from NAFA and eight KMUTT students from the industrial design and interior design courses.
The students were mentored by three established designers – Jitrin Jintaprecha and Pote Nilsaard from Thailand, as well as Melvin Ong from Singapore, and were able to work with Thai manufacturers Hawaii Thai and Deesawat to create their final prototypes.
