Malaysia Day is celebrated to commemorate the establishment of the Malaysian federation on the same date in 1963. On 16th September, Singapore, North Borneo (now Sabah), and Sarawak came together with the Malayan Federation to form Malaysia. This significant day holds a special place in the hearts of Malaysians as it is a reason to celebrate unity, harmony and prosperity.
For this occasion, The One Academy and its students has produced a short animation capturing the spirit of Muhibbah. The story begins when a young schoolboy is caught in the rain and trying to find shelter. Just then, a stall owner saw his plight and offered the boy a seat in his eatery. Unknown to the boy, the owner prepared food and a hot drink for him. When the rain had stopped, the boy dug into his pockets to pay for the meal. However, all he had on him was a 50 sen coin and a candy. In the spirit of Bangsa Malaysia, the owner refused the money. They bid each other goodbye and the boy went on his way. The story portrays how Malaysians are ever ready and willing to lend a hand to those in need. This Malaysia Day, let us remember the values that tie us together as a harmonious nation.
It is our hope that you will help in disseminating this message to reach all Malaysians and invoke a sense of giving and gratitude. Happy Malaysia Day!
