Miri – 28 April 2016 – As in previous years, the upcoming International Festival or iFest 2016 at Curtin University, Sarawak Malaysia (Curtin Sarawak) on 30 April 2016 is set to be yet another colourful event for the university.
The annual event is a celebration of the university’s multiculturalism and global outlook with students from over 45 different countries and staff from some 15 countries. Staff and students of Curtin Sarawak and their family members as well as members of the public are invited to attend. Entry is free of charge.
Jointly organised by Curtin Sarawak’s Student Council, International Student Association (ISA) and Curtin Indian Cultural Society (CICS), it will be held from 10.00 am to 10.00 pm at the university’s Recreation and Event Centre.
The event will feature a variety of food and retail booths as well as activities such as cultural performances; a fashion show; Holi (also known as Festival of Colours); water festival and kite-flying. Visitors are encouraged to participate in the Holi and kite-flying by purchasing coloured powder and kites.
Vice-President of ISA and Head of Events Umar Abbas said the iFest is a great opportunity for Miri residents mingle with the international community of students and staff at Curtin Sarawak.
