Asia Pacific University Unveils Exciting New Pathways for APU Students with De Montfort University, UK.
Kuala Lumpur, 6 August 2018: Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) becomes the first Malaysian university to ink a pathway progression agreement with De Montfort University (DMU) today.
With this pathway arrangement, APU students from selected programmes can now choose to complete their degree studies at DMU’s Campus in Leicester, United Kingdom (UK) through the 2+1, 1+2, 2+2 and 3+1 progression pathways.
The new extensive progression pathways benefit students from the Computing, Technology, Business, Management, Marketing, Tourism, Media, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Quantitative Studies, Design & Media disciplines.
APU students who undertake the new APU-DMU progression pathway will be entitled to an exclusive Bursary Scholarship of £2,500 upon receiving an offer from DMU.
In order to facilitate closer working relations between both parties, under the pathway agreement, both universities will also organize guest lecture sessions, joint student events and other collaborative efforts that are set to take place in Malaysia and in the UK.
The signing ceremony took place today at APU’s campus at Technology Park Malaysia, Bukit Jalil.
James Gardner, Pro Vice Chancellor for Strategic and International Partnerships, DMU expressed his excitement to see both universities share similar values in appreciating multiculturalism.
“APU is absolutely thrilled to welcome DMU at this momentous occasion, we wish that through this new pathway progression, both APU and DMU can work together to continue achieving excellence by providing quality education in Malaysia and the UK,” expressed Professor Ron Edwards, Vice Chancellor of APU.
DMU is one of the fifth best university in the UK for overall teaching excellence; the outstanding learning and teaching experience entitled the university a Gold ranking under the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2017.
Representing DMU at the opening of the event, James Gardner, Pro Vice Chancellor for Strategic and International Partnerships said, “Today’s collaboration is a 2-way engagement between both universities. I am pleased to see both APU and DMU share similar values of appreciating multiculturalism, which is an important trait for nurturing students with a global mindset.”
