Calling all music enthusiasts, be prepared for one of the largest music education exhibition in the country. The Malaysia International Music Expo 2011 (MIME 2011) will take place from September 12th to the 15th at Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus.
Organised by FIFTYone Training & Consultancy in collaboration with Taylor’s University’s Society of Communication (The Socialites) MIME 2011 is a musical event comprising of workshops by veteran musicians and an exhibition of music courses, products and services by musical instrument retailers and recording studios namely Roar!!! Studio, Bentley Music, Tune Studios, Jazz Ampang, Jazz Community Malaysia, and JS Music.
The highlight of MIME 2011 will be the ‘Sing Your Heart Out’ competition and ‘Battle of the Bands’ showcasing young talented finalists that will be judged by veteran music producer and Malaysian Idol judge, Roslan Aziz.
Exclusive talks by local and international music producers and artists who will share their experiences in the music industry are part of the fantastic array of events for the four days open to music enthusiasts of all ages.
“Through MIME 2011, we hope to bring together young independent talents that will add value to the local music industry and ultimately achieve our mission to establish Malaysia as a hub for music education,” said Azri Abdullah, Managing Director of FIFTYone Training & Consultancy
Visitors to MIME 2011 can also look forward to product demonstrations, music-theme fashion shows, exclusive giveaways stand a chance to meet and greet international and local artistes including Malaysian R&B singer Ferhad, Indonesian master guitar shredder Puguh Kribo, a popular jazz pianist from USA, Stu MacAskie.
The Socialites’ club president Melizarani T.Selva says that MIME 2011 is a brilliant opportunity for students from secondary schools and higher learning institutions across Malaysia to explore the possibilities of becoming a music performer or entrepreneur.
