Cultural Medallion Young Artist Award Recipients with Guest of Honour President Tony Tan and VIPs.
(17 October 2015, Saturday) This year’s Cultural Medallion award winners are painter Chua Mia Tee, 84; pianist Margaret Leng Tan, 69; Chinese writer Lin Gao, 65; and playwright Haresh Sharma, 50. They received the award from President Tony Tan at the Istana.
Chua Mia Tee was born in 1931, in Shantou, China, and came to Singapore with his father when he was 6. Having graduated from NAFA, he has working at his craft for 65 years. His famous works include Epic Poem of Malaya and National Language Class.
