KUALA LUMPUR, 6 Dec: A fair morning turned into a delightful Saturday afternoon when The Soft Skills Enhancement and Learning Support (SEALS) Association, UNITEN was announced as the grand prize winner of RM10,000 cash prize, a Rev Up Zone to be set up at the winner’s campus and an internship for the winner’s program director for Masters of Rev-Up Challenge 2014. On top of that, they also won the ‘Most Popular Vote’. “It took us working round the clock to achieve the glorious title we’ve just grabbed. Team effort and determination from each and every one of us is what makes this achievement worth it”, says Sarrvin Raj Kanagasarpai, team leader of REV-UP The Walking Dead.
Masters of Rev-Up Challenge organized by Revive Isotonic from Permanis Sdn Bhd has been around for the last 5 years since 2010. The purpose of this event is to expose the university students to the working environment that are constantly challenging. Its objective is to educate the students about team spirit, and with it, problems can be solved.
This time around, the theme for the project was marathon based. All participating team needed to brainstorm ideas that are out of the box and prodigious. Scores given was based on creativity and originality of the ideas and the execution plan that were presented to the organizing committee.
Masters of Rev Up Challenge started last May with 16 finalists out of the 42 submission that was received. The grand prize is RM10, 000 and on top of that, the winning team will have a dedicated Rev Up zone placed at their university.
“We are an association with 60 students from different faculties with different personalities with lots of suggestions and ideas to share on. What makes this event a successful one is that, all of us understood what we are supposed to do and we gave our all even though we are all caught up with assignments and test”, said Sarrvin after the closing ceremony of Masters of Rev Up Challenge here in Muzium Negara.
The prizes were presented by Permanis Marketing Manager, Santharuban Thurai Sundaram.
