(10 June 2016, Friday)Her yearning for painting pushed Ms Tini Sujak, who works in the oil and gas industry, to create a wall mural for the Street Graffiti showcase held in conjunction with the Singapore Street Festival (SSF) 2016. At the launch event on Wednesday, Ms Tini’s artwork was selected to allow the guest-of-honour, Tanjong Pagar GRC Member of Parliament Joan Pereira, to apply the finishing touches.
Ms Tini, 37, who graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), is among the 16 artists displaying their works in the Street Graffiti exhibition. Of the 16 artists, 10 artists are young Malays – six are graffiti artists, while the rest include fine art artists, art educators and illustrators. The exhibition runs until 30 June at Bugis Junction shopping centre.
SSF is currently celebrating its 15th anniversary with the theme “Community” until 3 July. The annual festival is a platform for youth to explore and highlight their skills and capabilities.
