Taylor’s opened its East Coast Regional Office in Kuantan to cater to the needs of families in Pahang, Kelantan and Terengganu. This is Taylor’s fifth regional office in Malaysia which caters to interested parents and students who are seeking information and counselling on tertiary education, scholarships, bursaries and others offered by Taylor’s University and Taylor’s College.
Present to officiate the opening was Yang Hormat Dato’ Hj Abdul Aziz Hj Abdul Latiff, Director of Education, Pahang State Education Department, witnessed by Mr Pradeep Kumar Nair, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Taylor’s University and Mr Thou Kok Cheng, Chief Operating Officer of Taylor’s College.
“It is great to see that Taylor’s has decided to set up its regional base here in Kuantan. We believe that this regional office will provide greater access to the residents of Pahang and our neighbours in Kelantan and Terengganu to obtain good quality pre-university and tertiary education with a reputable private education institution,” said Dato’ Hj Abdul Aziz at the opening ceremony.
Mr Pradeep Nair said it was the desire to provide better customer service to parents and students from this part of the country that prompted Taylor’s to set up the regional office.
“The growing population in the East Coast, especially amongst the middle and upper income groups spurred us to look at this region as the next step in expanding our local presence. Another motivating factor for us to open up an office here was the high and growing demand from the ‘bumiputera’ market for quality private education.
“With the opening of the Taylor’s East Coast Regional Office, we can now cater to families who reside in Pahang, Kelantan and Terengganu. Our aim is to deliver faster, relevant and outstanding solutions to both parents and students who are keen to seek information on tertiary education,” he added.
The event also saw the announcement of Taylor’s “Developing Town Study Grant” that will be offered for the upcoming 2011 intake. The grant, worth up to RM5,000 per student, is designed to provide financial aid to outstanding students from selected towns to pursue their education at Taylor’s.
“I hope that every parent and student will take this opportunity to find out more about the opportunities to study at Taylor’s. I also would like to urge our Principals and Head of Schools and Colleges to enquire and take advantage of the services offered by Taylor’s East Coast Regional Office,” said Dato’ Hj Abdul Aziz.
The East Coast Regional Office follows four other regional offices that have been previously set up in Penang, Johor Bahru, Sabah and Sarawak respectively. With the latest regional office, Taylor’s has significantly increased its presence in the East Coast region, thus completing its coverage across all major market centres in Malaysia.
Taylor’s was recently awarded full-fledged University status by the Ministry of Higher Education. With the award, Taylor’s now operates Taylor’s University, which offers foundation, degree and postgraduate programmes; and Taylor’s College, which offers Pre-University programmes and the American Degree Programme.
